Questions

How do I test my MacBook trackpad?

Click, double-click, right-click and scroll inside the test area. Each action is counted and timed. Then draw slowly across the drawing pad: gaps or jumps in the line show where tracking fails.

Why does my MacBook trackpad click not work?

Check System Settings, Trackpad. Tap to click may be off, or Force Click may need a firmer press. If the trackpad won't click physically at all, a swollen battery can push against it from below. Stop using the Mac and have the battery checked.

What is a double click test?

It measures the time between two clicks. A single press that registers as two clicks a few milliseconds apart means a worn mouse switch. On a trackpad, slow double-clicks may need a faster double-click speed setting.

How do I right-click on a MacBook?

Click with two fingers, or hold Control while clicking. You can change this in System Settings, Trackpad, Secondary click.

Cracked or partly dead MacBook screen?

A macOS desktop with CrackMac running: black bands cover the damaged left and bottom edges, and the menu bar and windows sit inside the working part of the screen.
With CrackMac: the damaged edges are blacked out, and the menu bar and windows stay on the working glass.

If part of your screen is damaged, CrackMac keeps windows, the menu bar and the pointer on the part that still works and paints the damage black. Free for 30 minutes.
